Martina Patania’s life was once filled with difficulty and judgement, but a chance encounter with the “life changing” Transcendental Meditation® (TM) technique has transformed her life.
In an interview, Martina shared how this simple, natural and effortless practice has helped her find the inner freedom and sense of purpose she had been searching for.
“I found I needed an experience where I could just feel free internally, without judgement, and feel like I needed to find a purpose in life,” Martina said.
It was her first experience of Transcendental Meditation that truly opened her eyes.
“I knew that was the right one,” she said. Before TM, Martina’s life was “hectic, difficult and judged” and her personal experiences were taking its toll.
But everything changed around seven months ago when Martina was taught the TM technique. “I found that I had to trust what happens next,” she said.
“I always wanted to control and felt that I needed to have the answer of what’s going to happen in the next second or minute. And now I don’t.”
This newfound trust and acceptance has allowed Martina to become more relaxed, even in the face of challenges.
“If there is an issue, or someone happens to say the wrong thing, I find myself a little bit more relaxed about it,” she said.
Martina’s relationships have also blossomed since incorporating TM into her life. She noticed a positive shift in her dynamic with her mother, who is “a little bit calmer” and more understanding.
Even her children and grandchild have embraced Martina’s meditation practice, with her granddaughter expressing interest in doing yoga “like Nona does.”
When asked what advice she would give to someone considering TM, Martina is emphatic: “Don’t hesitate and don’t wait for the right moment, because when you think about it, that is the right moment.”
She believes TM has been “life changing” and credits her current positive outlook to it.
Martina’s newfound sense of trust and acceptance has had a positive effect on her feelings of personal safety and well-being.
She can now sleep in complete darkness, something she was unable to do before TM. “I open my eyes and I cannot see a crack of light anywhere and I feel safe, that’s huge for me,” she said.
Martina expressed her wish for everyone to experience the same level of bliss and freedom that she has found. “…if only you knew how I feel when I’m meditating. I wish you knew you could feel that way as well,” she said.
Martina’s story is a testament to the transformative power of Transcendental Meditation. The benefits of which have been verified by over 700-research studies conducted at top universities and research institutes such as Harvard, Stanford, CSIRO and University of Melbourne.
Through this simple, natural, effortless technique Martina has found the internal freedom, purpose, and sense of trust that has long eluded her.
Her journey serves as an inspiration for those seeking a path to greater peace, clarity, and connection in their own lives.
